yeah, your nails will get ruined with acrilic nails... the only way they won't get ruined is if you wear something like press ons for that occasion, they have realy nice designs now.Fake nail tips :S?
As long as you stay away from those cheapo 'discount' salons, your nails will not be ruined by wearing acrylic enhancements. By dscount salon, I mean the places which charge like $15-$25 for a full set, and $10-$15 for a fill, no appointment needed - just walk in, almost always there is a big time language barrier - forget talking to them about anything, you can't understand them- and they always seem to talk in their native tongue to their coworkers while you are sitting at the table getting your nails done - usually Vietnamese. The places are often dirty, and unsanitary. The reason that these places ruin your nails is mainly due to the fact that they use a Dremel drill on your nails. While this tool is fine for woodworking, it is NOT made for use on nails. They tend to drill the heck out of your nails becaus e most often they are untrained, and unlicensed - thus unqualified to do your nails. Also, these places, since they charge so little, have to cut corners wherever possiblle to save money. That is good for them, bad for you. They use the absolute cheapest acrylic products available, and do other things like use files/sanding bands over and over on customers. This is very unsafe, as you can easily catch a infectuous disease from this practice. Stay away from these places, trust me! Go to a reoutable salon, with highly trained, licensed techs who will do a good job on your nails - much better than any discount joint can do.
yes..they do..the whole process takes like 45 minutes..what they do first is use an emery board to file ur nails..and cut them down...they use acetone to take off any nail polish u may have..then depending on what u want they look for the correct nail to make your full set look nice..they kinda put these ridiculous long nails on halfway toward the tip of ur nail..then they cut them down as small as you want them..then they add acrylic..they use this..lil machine that files ur nails..and they pretty much make them smooth...then once theyre done doing that..they put some gel on ur nails..tell u to go wash ur hands..and when u come back they put the nail polish to keep it from chipping..and they turn on a lil fan that they have u dry your nails..until they are dry enough for you to leave..whew!..that was a long response..hope it helps =]
