I was thinking of getting fake nails being put on professionally but do they damage your real nails?

ive never gotten fake nails put on before soooo, i wasent thinking of leaving them on for more than a month so do they damage your real neails? how?I was thinking of getting fake nails being put on professionally but do they damage your real nails?
Yes, they do damage them some, but for a short period of time. The only damage is that the nails don't get oxygen and they feel like you just got out of the pool. They damage your nails cause they have to scratch up your nails so that the glue can get some traction, so they take a course file and run it all over your nails, scratching them up. So it really doesn't matter how long their on, they damage your nails from the beginning. but fake nails are pretty:) you cant have both healthy natural nails and fake ones.
