i have acrylic nails done by a professional and now i want to get them off. How can i get them off without damaging or hurting my nails? How can i get my fake nails off?
Just plain nailpolish remover doesnt always work, depends how good it is. Usually if you go to a pharmacy or beauty supply store you can find a product that is specifically for removing them. Basically you have to soak your fingers in the stuff for ages and they will gradually dissolve and you scrub it off. It is very messy though, but you gotta do what you gotta do. And its better than pulling them off which completely wrecks your real nails even more than the acryclic will.
Dont try to chip them off, it rarely ends well and basically if theres any part that is attached to your actual nail really well, it will just rip it up. You will be left with extremely rough and chipped nails if you just try pulling them off.How can i get my fake nails off?
Honestly, your nails are going to be damaged at least a little regardless of what you do. The acrylic damages the nail bed. Three of my nails still have uneven nail beds, and I last had acrylic nails about 7 months ago. But the best way to get them off with the min amount of pain is to soak your nails in acetone nail polish remover. Do this for as long as you have time to, the longer the better (at least ten minutes though). Warm salt water is also good. Switch between the two a few times, focusing longer amounts of time on the nail polish remover soaks. Gently pull on the nail to see if it's lose enough for you to pull off. If it is still too painful or not budging at all, soak in the nail polisher some more. Hope this helps.
the best way is to go to the salon to get them professionally removed. if you try to remove them yourself you may damage your nail underneat the acrylic causing real problems. it is pretty inexpensive to get them removed at the salon.
if you want to do them at home you have to soak your nails in acetone nail polish remover. it has to be acetone b/c that is the only thing that will remove the acrylic. this may be a long process though.
Don't soak them, it will only make it harder for the acrylic to come off. Take a thin piece of plastic like a folder, divider, or plastic CD cover or something and gently slide it under the nail.
You will feel the nail begin to pop off and it will slide off without any damage to your nail.
there is no way to get them off with out hurting your real nails, but you can try to soak them in nail polish remover, what i did tho and it hurt but it worked was i bit the nail in half so there was a crack down the middle then the glue stuff just cam right off the part that hurt my fingers was the bit down the middle
soak your nails in acetone for about 10 min or so, and they should start peeling off but remember your nails are going to be rough until you file them down. it mite be easier to go to a nail salon and have them take them off so they can file them down nicely and make them smooth again.. it usually costs about 10-15 dollars for that tho
oh god, i just took mine off a few weeks ago its PAINFULL haha. sorry to scare you...but yea, you just slowly work on the cuticle and then keep taking it off...once they are all off then put clear polish on them, they will be brittle....good luck
Get ACETONE and soak them in there for a long time. You can buy it at walmart or cvs. Or you can go and have the nail place take them off for like 10-15 bucks.
soak in nail polish remover.
if you don't have any, use rubbing alcohol, it takes a lot longer but works, i guess. lol
Put oil or Nailpolish remover to lubricate/soften them.
